Calcutta Cacophony at Icanflyy Cafe

 

Looking for a cozy, comfortable as well as a pocket friendly place to hang out with your friends or destress yourself?
Well, absolutely not a thing to worry about. Kolkata has now got it’s one of a kind cafe named ‘Icanflyy’ It is a very special kind of a cafe run entirely by young adults who are differently abled or have special needs and headed by Minu and Preeyam Budhia. The cafe was recently launched on 19th August during the independence week to celebrate their motto of ‘Freedom of being who you are’. It is in the ground floor of the Vocational skill training centre for children with special needs that goes by the same name as the cafe itself.
This 24 seater cafe with both indoor and outdoor seating is a place with warm and friendly ambience with a tinge of personal care and love. The staff is friendly and cordial enough to give you a smile of satisfaction when you leave the cafe.
Coming to the menu, the place has both mouth watering veg and non veg options along with some intensely satisfying and taste buds tickling coolers, smoothies, ice creams and various other desserts.
The ones that we had tried out there were chicken poppers, cheese balls, balsamic mushroom pizza, spicy chicken pizza among others. The coolers and smoothies are equally good and perfect for calming yourselves in this summer heat.
Along with tasty and pocket friendly food options, they also provide free wifi and also hosts various live events to set the mood of the cafe. There is karaoke, live music, open mic, screening of movies for kids and also informal friendly discussions on trending topics.
Being a non-alcoholic place, it is perfect for the parents to bring along their kids in order to enjoy the food and also other exciting activities like quizzes and board games.
Also, if you are a F.R.I.E.N.D.S fan, then a foosball table outside the entrance of the cafe will definitely grab your attention.
The cafe also provides space for renting out to host various occasions ranging from private parties to photo-shoots.
The place is open from 11:30am to 9pm, Tuesday to Sunday and is closed on Mondays. However, it is available for rent for all the days of the week.
The cafe has a food factory that makes customised cakes, cookies and other special menus on orders and also makes door stop delivery within a nearby radius.
The place also has handmade things and DIY on sale made with love by these specially abled young people.
It provides various other services like laumdrette, data outsourcing entries for companies, institutions as well as individuals which is done entirely by the staff and students of the ‘Icanflyy’ centre.
Overall, it is a one of a kind place that will put you in awe when you think about as to how talented these specially abled youngsters are.
The Cafe is located at 4B, Valmikee street near Maddox Square and the pocket pinch for a meal of two is ₹500 (approx).
It has a page on social media handles like facebook and can also be reviewed on Zomato. It recently has started home delivery of all the items on the cafe menu to any corner of the city through Swiggy.
Though the cafe is quite young but it’s positive intentions and goals is making it grow quite rapidly.

A friendly reminder – The cafe will close down on 23rd September for Durga puja and will repoen again on 4th October.
